Our Story

Mesta Meadows is family ranch located in the beautiful eastern Ozark Highlands of Southeast Missouri. Our passion is to provide an incredible life for our animals, amazing products for our customers, and a real ranch experience for our guests. We focus on raising amazing food that is pasture raised, antibiotic free, and hormone free. Our on-farm store, The Mason Jar, provides products from our ranch and other local farms.  

The owners, Ed and Terri Crowley, have a passion for the animals on our ranch. From the petting zoo regulars (donkeys, fainting goats, and nubian goats), to our sheep, cattle and poultry we do everything possible to provide healthy, natural environments for our livestock.  We are unique in the breadth of our operations with wool, meat, and dairy sheep, Scottish Highland and Angus cattle, pigs (at times), laying hens, broiler hens, and ducks all part of our ranch community! Our Great Pyrenees dogs protect the entire ranch and live full time with our livestock.  All of our animals are pasture raised, and we don't use growth hormones.  We practice rotational grazing and other regenerative farming techniques to constantly improve our soil anmd raise amazing grass.

Our ranch also products amazing merino wool which has been sold to customers in every state in the USA, across Canada, and even into Scotland, Ireland, and England. Our wool is in particularly high demand by artisan 'spinners' who create amazing products.  We also have a selection of hats, scarves, and socks made from our fine merino wool.  Our wool products are available from The Mason Jar Store, our Etsy store (https://www.etsy.com/shop/Mestameadows), and select retailers in the St. Louis area.

We welcome visitors to tour our farm and we are also Harvest Host and Hip Camp hosts!  Group tours are available by appointment, and we love hosting school tours!
